How to Make Your Very Own Pudsey Cake!

Make Cake, Eat Cake- It's all for a good cause!

November 16th marks the return of Pudsey Bear and the Children in Need television campaign. As part of my third year major project (Exposure Radio) We have been told  to air our own show dedicated to Children in Need. This gave me the perfect excuse to make a 'How to' package on how to bake your own Pudsey the bear cake for Children in Need. I also thought it would be a good idea to include the recipe on here in case any readers wanted to get involved with the charity and helping to raise awareness ^__^

You Will Need:

6 oz Self Raising Flour
6 oz Caster Sugar
6 oz Butter
3 Eggs
1 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Vanilla essence
Butter Icing
Jam
White Fondant Icing

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  • Mix the butter and sugar together until they form a paste
  • Beat the Eggs and SLOWLY add them to the mixture
  • Add the mild and the vanilla essence
  • Mix in the baking powder and slowly fold in the flour
  • Separate into two round cake tins and two cupcake cases
  • Place in over for around 20 minutes until everything is cooked through and golden brown
  • Prepare your Butter Icing
  • Once cakes are cooked and cooled spread on the icing and a thin layer of jam
  • Sandwich them together
  • Roll out your icing and cut a bandanna shape out and decorate it
  • Cut out an eye with the remaining icing
  • Spread a thin layer of jam under the icing and place on cake
  • Cut the cup cakes in half so that they fit around the cake
  • Add any other decorations you want!
And that's it! A simple Pudsey cake that's a great way to get involved with a great charity! If you want to listen to our show its on from 12pm-2pm. Its all for a good cause! Don't forget to tune in to BBC One on the 16th from 7pm onwards!

Cheers M'dears
