How to roast a GREAT Pork Shoulder!

Roast the Piggy!

Now be warned, I was lucky enough to find a good sized pork shoulder with crackling that had been reduced from £9 to £4.60! How could I say no to that?! Now if you're a student whose craving a good old fashioned roast dinner it may be worth getting your house mates to chip in and making a proper effort with it.

The beauty with meat like pork is that you don't have to worry about fussing with it- prep it how you like, and slap it in the oven for two and a half  to three hours (you may want to put some tin foil over it for the first two hour to avoid any grease splashes!). I had some left over rosemary so I stuffed some of that into the scores along the joint but you can simply season with salt and pepper.

You've then got plenty of time between you to make roast potatoes (boil for ten minutes and roast for 45 mins for good fluffiness) and whatever else you want on your dinner! If you want to go all out you can use this recipe to make your own Yorkshire puddings from scratch!

Prepare to feel stuffed!
